Zalmoxes (zal-moks-eez) was a genus of dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous. It is classified as an Iguanodont. |
The type species is Z. robustus; another is described as Z. shqiperorum. Both species were found in Romania. Additional material is known from Austria, formerly described as Mochlodon suessi. Zalmoxes grew to be around 3 metres long. It was active during the Maastrichtian age, 69 million years ago. It was found in Hunedoara, Romania. |
