Quilmesaurus (keel-may-SAWR-us) was a meat-eating dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous period. Fossils (hind limb material) of this medium-sized theropod were found in the Allen formation in Patagonia, South America. Quilmesaurus was named by paleontologist R. Coria in 2001; the type species is Q. curriei. |
