Frenguellisaurus

Frenguellisaurus - Meaning: Frenguelli Lizard

Frenguellisaurus (fren-GWEL-eh-SAWR-us) was a late Triassic dinosaur that lived about 231-225 million years ago. It was a very early, primitive dinosaur. It was named in honour of Dr. Joaquin Frenguelli (1883-1958), an Italian-born paleontologist who worked in Argentina and who did important paleontological and geological work in the Triassic basin of the Ischigualasto-Villa Union. This fossil is also referred to as Herrerasaurus.
